But the always intrepid, ingenious Jordan, a disarmingly appealing heroine who’s a bit of a renegade, is up to the task, as usual. This offbeat series combines meaty plots with plenty of zany goings-on, in the manner of Janet Evanovich, and it is steadily gaining fans among those who like a comic edge to their crime.
