While the character Temperance ‘Tempe’ Brennan may have inspired the character from the hit tv show BONES, Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan they aren’t exactly the same person.

Think of it as two parrellel realities where Temperance has taken two different paths.

BOOKS – The books are loosely based on the author, Kathy Reichs, life. (She jokingly says that she and Tempe have the same CV)

SHOW – The show is loosely based on the books which is loosely based on the author who is one of the shows head producers. (To keep the science honest) Bones is much younger than her literary counterpart. And more socially awkward. Also the character is a crime writer whose character’s name is Kathy Reichs.

So, while Emily Deschanel may not fit into your mental images when listening to the book… Give Tempe a chance. She and Bones aren’t the same but they are still bot great gals!
